This multi-day journey blends Sri Lanka’s cultural heartland, misty hill country, dramatic mountain landscapes, rich wildlife, and golden southern coastline into one seamless experience.

Beginning with a scenic drive inland, the tour visits the historic city of Kandy, where culture, heritage, and hill-country charm come together beside the sacred Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and the tranquil Kandy Lake. From there, the journey ascends into the cool highlands of Nuwara Eliya, where rolling tea plantations, waterfalls, and colonial character define the landscape.

The route then continues toward the spectacular mountain scenery of Ella, celebrated for its iconic viewpoints, lush surroundings, and relaxed atmosphere. Departing from Colombo, the journey toward Nuwara Eliya begins with a scenic drive inland through Sri Lanka’s cultural heartland. En route, a rewarding stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage offers the chance to witness elephants bathing and roaming along the river. The route then ascends through the historic Kadugannawa mountain pass, where panoramic views open across lush valleys and distant hills. Approaching Kandy, the landscape unfolds toward the scenic Hanthana mountain range before arriving in the hill capital, where visitors may explore the sacred Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic beside the tranquil Kandy Lake, the spiritual heart of Sri Lankan Buddhism.

From Kandy, the route proceeds toward Gampola to visit the unique Ambuluwawa Biodiversity Complex, where those who climb the iconic spiral tower are rewarded with sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. Begin the morning in Nuwara Eliya with a visit to the sacred Seetha Amman Temple, revered as the location of Ashoka Vatika in the Ramayana, where Sita is believed to have been held captive by Ravana. Nearby streams and rock formations are traditionally associated with episodes from the epic.

Continue to the nearby Hakgala Botanical Garden, believed in legend to be part of Ravana’s royal pleasure gardens, where visitors can explore its beautiful rose gardens, orchids, and cool-climate mountain flora. A short stop follows at Pedro Tea Estate to experience the production of Sri Lanka’s famous high-grown Ceylon tea, including a guided walk through tea processing and tasting.

Depart Nuwara Eliya late morning and descend through scenic tea estates and forested mountain slopes toward Ella, enjoying panoramic views through the Ella Gap with photo stops along the way, including the dramatic Ravana Falls, traditionally linked to the legend of Ravana.

Departing from Ella, the journey descends from the cool hill country into Sri Lanka’s southern dry plains, passing through changing landscapes of mountains, forests, and rural villages. Continuing via Wellawaya and Buttala, the drive approaches the wilderness surrounding Yala National Park. In the afternoon, guests embark on an exciting jeep safari, where there is a chance to spot leopards, elephants, crocodiles, deer, and diverse birdlife.

After the safari, the day concludes with an overnight stay at a Hotel in the Yala / Tissamaharama area.
